LINE LEAD

We are looking for teammates who are a strong fit with our company culture: hard working, nerdy service industry veterans. The Line Lead is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating assembling plates across stations during service, inventory tracking, and preparing orders and closing the kitchen. Their success is determined by low ticket times, happy teammates, a clean kitchen and consistent quality dishes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures kitchen is clean and organized
  • Stages all ingredients needed for a successful service
  • Keeps pace with tickets entering the kitchen to keep ticket times low
  • Is the leading example of cook efficiency and speed during volume shifts 
  • Quality checks ingredients
  • Coordinates closing the kitchen efficiently
  • Enforces all closing procedures to ensure a clean and organized kitchen
  • Creates prep lists for future services by taking nightly inventory of prep ingredients
  • Uses inventory software to generate orders to major vendor for management review

Requirements

  • Professional cooking experience required
  • Management experience not required, but preferred
  • Passion for working with quality ingredient to create delicious food
  • Fundamental understanding of basic cooking techniques
  • Fundamental understanding of industry inventory and FIFO practices
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry best practices
  • Current Texas Food Handlers Certification

Pay is $15-$17/hour, commensurate to kitchen management experience.

WAITSTAFF

Vigilante Gastropub and Games is looking for hardworking servers to join our growing team. All experienced servers with an interest in board games and passion for creating unique experiences are encouraged to apply. Hiring full and part time positions. 

Server Responsibilities

  • Deliver a service experience as per the standards laid out by Vigilante management
  • Actively provide positive hospitality by anticipating the needs of Vigilante patrons
  • Maintain detailed food, beer, wine and cocktail menu knowledge
  • Maintain detailed knowledge about Vigilante’s board game menu
  • Provide guidance to patrons in selecting from all food, beverage and games
  • Operate as part of a service team to ensure all patrons have a positive experience
  • Handle patron checks through Breadcrumb Point of Sale and conduct sales transactions
  • Complete side-work to ensure cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Complete knowledge of our menu, ingredients, and beverage menu
  • Creating a welcoming and audaciously nerdy atmosphere for our guests
  • Maintain proper licensing and permitting to serve food and alcohol
  • Assist Front of House Support team members in their duties

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • A genuine desire to make people happy through small acts of service
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn more about beer, wine and cocktails
  • Interest in board games and nerd culture
  • Dedication to teamwork in a tip pool environment
  • Previous experience waiting tables is preferred, but not required
  • Able to spend an entire 8+ hour shift on your feet and constantly moving
  • Current TABC and Food Handlers Certificate

KEYHOLDER BARTENDER/SERVER

Vigilante is looking for a hard working, enthusiastic nerd to fill a hybrid role performing bartender and server duties. All experienced bartenders with an interest in board games and passion for creating unique experiences are encouraged to apply. The role will currently be part time with the expectation to move to full time. 

Bartender Responsibilities

  • Deliver a service experience as per the standards laid out by Vigilante management
  • Actively provide positive hospitality by anticipating the needs of Vigilante patrons
  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
  • Assist in leading service staff
  • Interact with patrons, take orders and serve food and drinks
  • Assess patrons’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Adhere to all TABC and restaurant policies for responsible alcohol service
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Maintain strict adherence to all TABC, health code, and restaurant policies

Requirements

  • A genuine desire to make people happy through small acts of service
  • Interest in board games and nerd culture
  • Previous experience bartending
  • Able to spend an entire 8+ hour shift on your feet and constantly moving
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Appreciation for fine beer, wine and cocktails

LINE COOK

We are looking for line cooks who are a strong fit with our company culture: hard working, nerdy service industry veterans. Successful candidates will be team players that crucially contribute to our patron’s satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Maintain station cleanliness and assist with kitchen dish washing as needed
  • Stock inventory appropriately (FIFO procedures)
  • Execute recipes in a high volume environment quickly and accurately
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers

Requirements

Compensation is $14- $15/hour for applicants with kitchen experience, commensurate with experience. Pay for untrained applicants starts at $13/hour, with a pay increasing over six months as experience is gained.
