We’re Hiring a Game Master

REQUIREMENTS

Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary board games, with the ability to teach at least forty well known titles
A keen sense for “fun” across all genres of games, especially lightweight to middleweight titles and party games
Genuine joy in helping others connect to the best board game for them, rather than your personal favorites
2+ years in either food service, retail, or customer service facing roles
Ability to work long shifts on your feet while doing a great deal of talking
1+ years either leadership or training experience
TABC & Food Handler’s Permit

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the service team in teaching games:

Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of our game library
Teaching titles and delegating teaches to servers
Take initiative to find tables in need of help
Match tables with the best game possible for their tastes
Practice/rehearse teaches to keep them timely and accurate
Prioritize and juggle teaches for maximum effiency

Lead game training for the Front of House team

Select core games for all team members to know
Monitors the FoH team’s progress in learning games
Coaches servers on their teaches and recommendations
Create supporting materials as needed for training

Take point on game library growth and maintenance:

Recommend new titles that meet Vigilante’s standards
Replace or repair aging or damaged games
Develop reference cards to assist in teaching
Keep the library tidy and organized

Run food and drink and assist floor service as needed

COMPENSATION

Game training and admin time: $16-$19/hour, based on experience (~8 hours/week)
Floor Service: $13-$15/hour, based on experience, plus tip out based on a percentage of sales (an additional $5-$8/hour)
